Car Insurance Pontiac (Car Insurance). how do you flush and replace the engine coolant by yourself?

how do you flush and replace the engine coolant by yourself?

First, it's a messy job. So make sure you have a means of "dealing with" the old engine coolant before you begin. Carefully if you have to do it yourself. Don't let antifreeze get where it can be ingested by animals, apparently it is sweet, but fatal to them. Flushing requires replacement of the thermostat. And prestone make a flush kit tool to aid you in the process of "flushing" out the system" To do a simple You need a catch pan Proper Coolant for your car or truck. If it orange only put orange back in, if its green only put back in green. Never mix coolants! Buy 50/50 premix coolant

Pontiac . What would you do? Repair the car or buy a replacement vehicle?

What would you do? Repair the car or buy a replacement vehicle? One mechanic says he suspects my '94 Toyota has a bad head gasket. He says that repair will cost $2,000 (but he could be inflating that price). I have owned the car for only a few months. I bought it cheap but I'm a student and this repair cost will be very hard on me. I can't afford to buy anything but another super-cheap car to replace this one and I'm afraid I'll just buy something else with huge problems. So am I better off staying with this devil car I know, or getting a replacement, potentially devil car. Thanks car insurance.

Pontiac . The more armed I am, and how more I'm provided for safety...?

The more armed I am, and how more I'm provided for safety...? How more I am armed, the more I get provided with safety things, I get more scared of things. Not that I mean I get scared, the feeling just get's bigger. I can't remember the last time I was scared of anything, but that is out of question. My point is, who has this too? The more armed you are (Like as in guns, weaponsticks, etc.) and the more safety you get provided of (Extra locks, extra attachments to the costume you wear, like if you go skydiving or bungeejumping) the more afraid I get something might go wrong. Is it just me, or are there more of this kind? I live in Europe, were it is illegal to have guns, thank god. I would not know what to do with the American Gun Addiction. Everybody a gun, only the idea sounds stupid already. So I do not have any weapons. If there is a burglar in my house I'll take it down with something hard in my room. Like a stick or big thing of wood. But how you think 'bout it? car insurance.

Pontiac . How to Remove the Coil Packs From a 1996 Cavalier

The ignition coil pack in your 1996 Chevy Cavalier comes equipped with a double coil, each one connecting to two spark plugs in the engine block. A single faulty coil will provide a weak or no spark to two of the block cylinders. However, the pack configuration allows you to replace only the faulty coil, without the need to replace the whole assembly. Better yet, you can remove the assembly from the engine and install the new coil at home with a few tools. These instructions apply to the 2.2L engine model.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Wrench
Masking tape
Marker
Floor jack
Jack stands (2)
Wheel chocks (2)
Safety glasses
Ratchet
Short ratchet extension
Socket

Step by Step :
1
Separate the negative (black) battery cable from the battery post with a wrench.
2
Follow the spark plug wires from the spark plugs in the engine block towards the opposite end to locate the ignition coil pack. The coil pack is mounted on the engine block, right in front of the firewall and under the intake manifold.
3
Label the spark plug wires with masking tape and a marker so that you replace them on their corresponding coil towers during reassembly then unplug the wires from the coils.
4
Shift the transmission to Neutral and raise the front of your Cavalier with a floor jack. Support it on jack stands and block the rear wheels with chocks.
5
Put on safety glasses and climb under the vehicle. Unplug the electrical connectors at the ignition coil.
6
Unfasten the three bolts holding the coil pack assembly to the engine block with a ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. Remove the assembly from the vehicle.
7
Replace the coil or coils from the assembly with the ratchet, short ratchet extension and socket. Install the coil pack assembly onto the engine block with the same tool combination.
8
Plug in the coil pack assembly's electrical connectors then lower your Cavalier with the floor jack.
9
Plug the spark plug wires into the coil pack towers and reconnect the negative (black) battery cable with the wrench.
Tips & Warnings
Make sure the engine is cool before you start removing the coil pack. The assembly is attached to the engine block, and you may burn your skin if the car has just been driven.

Pontiac . How to Fix the Thermostat on a 2003 Ford Focus 2.3

The thermostat in a water-cooled engine controls the temperature of the coolant. The thermostat stays closed when the engine is cool to restrict the flow of coolant. This allows the engine to warm up quicker. Once the engine reaches operating temperature, the thermostat opens up, allowing the coolant to flow freely through the engine passages. The 2003 Ford Focus was in its fourth year since its 2000 introduction and was available with a slightly larger 2.3 liter engine as an option over the 2.0 liter engine. A malfunctioning thermostat in your Focus can cause the engine to overheat.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Drain pan
Adjustable wrench
13-mm wrench
10-mm wrench
Pliers
Torx screwdriver
Replacement thermostat

Step by Step :
1
Open the hood and allow the engine in your Focus to cool so that you will not be scalded by hot coolant. Place a drain pan under the radiator drain valve. Loosen the valve without removing it with an adjustable wrench in a counterclockwise direction. Close the valve once the coolant has finished draining.
2
Locate the coil pack wiring harness on the driver's side of the engine to the right of the valve cover. Press in on the release tab on the underside of the plug and pull it apart. Remove the brackets from the EGR hose in the same location with a 13-mm and a 10-mm wrench. Push the plug and the hose aside to gain access the thermostat housing.
3
Pinch together the tabs on the upper hose clamp on the thermostat housing with a pair of pliers. Slide the clamp off of the hose. Pull the hose from the housing with a twisting motion. Rotate the housing to reveal the remaining two hose attachment points and remove these hoses in the same fashion. Remove the thermostat housing from the engine bay.
4
Remove the thermostat retainer from the housing by twisting out the retaining screws with a torx screwdriver. Remove the thermostat from the housing and insert a new one into the housing using the same orientation. Replace the thermostat retainer and tighten the torx screws.
5
Position the thermostat back into the engine bay and connect the three hoses removed earlier by sliding the hose clamps back into their original position. Replace the EGR valve brackets and tighten the retaining bolts. Plug the coil pack wiring harness back together until it is fully seated.
6
Remove the coolant filler cap on top of the engine and place a funnel in the opening. Pour the coolant from the drain pan into the funnel. Remove the funnel and replace the cap. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature. Check for leaks.

The car won't start on rainy days. Check inside the distributor cap for dampness (see "Servicing Your Distributor" in Chapter 12). If you find moisture, get some mechanic's solvent from your friendly service station — they use it to clean car parts — or buy an aerosol can of it at an auto supply store. To evaporate any dampness inside the distributor cap, turn the cap upside down and pour or spray some solvent into it. Swish it around and pour it out. Then dry the cap as best you can with a clean, lint-free rag and replace the cap. .Chapter 21: What to Do If Your Car Drops Dead or Won't Start A /j 2 Use only clean solvent; even a tiny speck of dirt can foul the points. Gasoline won't do because a spark can ignite gasoline fumes and cause an explosion or a fire. *" The car won't start on cold mornings. For vehicles with carburetors, check the choke. Is it closed? Does it open? See Chapter 13 for details. If you have fuel injection, you'll need to have a professional diagnose the cold-start problems. 963 Car Insurance 2008 chevrolet express 1500 passenger ltvan3d 343811

check the octane rating of the fuel you're using. The owner's manual can tell you whether your vehicle needs regular unleaded or premium gasoline. Check the cooling system (see Chapter 14). Do a compression check on the engine cylinders (see the section "Checking the Compression in Your Cylinders" in Chapter 13). Jumping, a start If your battery has died, you may be able to use jumper cables to jump a start from some Good Samaritan's car — with one important exception. If either vehicle has an electronic ignition system, the use of jumper cables may damage it. If your vehicle is one that may be damaged in this way, you may find a warning to that effect in the owner's manual or on a decal under the hood. Even if you don't find a warning, it pays to be sure, so call the service department at your dealership and ask about your vehicle's make, model, and year. If you can safely use jumper cables on your vehicle, make sure that the battery on the Good Samaritan's vehicle has at least as much voltage as your own. It doesn't matter whether your car has negative ground and the GS's car has positive ground, or your car has an alternator and the GS's car has a generator, as long as you hook up the cables properly (and the proper way is the same in every case).

Pontiac . How do you start a repo company?

*
To safely jump a start, follow these steps: Part IV: Dealing with On-the-Road Emergencies. 1. Take out your jumper cables. It's a good idea to buy a set of jumper cables (see Chapter 2) and keep them in the trunk compartment. If you don't have jumper cables, you'll have to find a Good Samaritan who not only is willing to assist you but has jumper cables as well. 2. Place both cars in Park or Neutral, with their ignitions shut off and their emergency brakes on. 3. Remove the caps from both batteries (unless they're sealed).
